2006 Urban Eden Farm Year End Review!

Just to warm you up a bit, here are some reminders from down on the farm this last spring and summer.

Well, Misty the cat got herself stuck up in a tree one day. After a couple of hours it sure didn’t look like she was going to rescue herself, so a couple of borrowed ladders later (latters lader?) and a few claw marks on my head, she was safe on terra firma again.  Hasn’t climbed that tree since...
Here’s how one of the crocus beds will look in about 3 or 4 months.  Spring will come!
Chives!

Ah…I could go for some fresh chives right about now…

"Down by the creek grow the nettles we’ll eat."  Stinging nettles flourish right next to some comfrey.  The nettles are one of the first “vegetables” available to eat on the farm in the spring.
Here’s an exotic Vinegar Flats giraffe grazing on a gigantic mullein in a wild corner of the garden.
